If you are an asparagus fan, you’re going to love this recipe from Chef Jason Hill of Chef Tips. Grilled asparagus recipes are especially popular, served alongside grilled fish or chicken.

Grilled Asparagus

25 stalks asparagus
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon pepper

Chef Tip; When choosing your asparagus, look for firm stalks and tips that are tightly closed. If your lemon pepper has salt as the No. 1 ingredient, you will not need to salt your asparagus.

Rinse the stalks under cool running water. Cut off the bottom 2 inches of the stalks.

Place stalks in a large casserole and drizzle with 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Coat well.

Preheat grill to high. Grill asparagus about 2-3 minutes or until slightly charred.

Chef Tip: Roasted asparagus is just as easy. Place in oven at 425 F for about 10 minutes.

Serve in your favorite salad or with pasta or grilled meats.

Hill shows you how to cook asparagus with this simple and delicious marinade of olive oil and lemon pepper. Your guests will be raving about it!

If you have any leftovers, you can use the asparagus crowns in your favorite asparagus soup recipe or in an asparagus quiche. It’s also delicious tossed into a salad.

  1. Thanks Casey! These days, when we spend more time outside grilling, they taste wonderful alongside grilled fish and chicken. Actually, we grill them in the winter too! So happy you liked the recipe! PS: Your channel is wonderful! We have a few of the Great Chefs cookbooks here at home!

    Cheers, Jason

  2. It was GREAT! Never grilled it before, I usually heat it for 5 minutes in water then cool off and eat with extra virgin olive oil and salt.

    Thanks again!

  3. dude, they're burnt. I heard if you eat food that is charred like that you are asking to get cancer. love all your other recipes, but this one didn't turn out.

You can for sure make up your own fresh lemon pepper for this. Zest of one lemon, one tbsp salt, and one tsp fresh cracked pepper should be good….

  5. @CJo582 One of your speakers might be out. Audio was on one channel and music on the other. Our old mic equipment wasn't the best, but thankfully we've improved since this vid. Cheers.

I don't know how to answer this. Can you provide some facts? I mean, grilling Asparagus every now and then certainly won't do in with Cancer.

  7. @ChefTips Looks really good ! I love the char marks !! Its the best way to eat them and thank you for this video.

  8. @ChefTips tho the music was a nice touch, you might wanna consider cloning the audio to the other side, it was quite trippy off my speakers.

  9. @intranick Yes, this was done with our old equipment and we were still learning how to edit. Sorry. Our new videos have both channels! 🙂

  10. @cliffcox66 @ChefTips Only char-marks on protein (meats) have any correlation with cancer. Also, it would have to be consumed in very excessive amounts, as this has only been shown in animal experimentation.

  11. @cliffcox66 Unless you are ingesting large amounts of nitrates or acrylamides, there is absolutely nothing to fear.

  12. mmm crunchy charred asparagus is yummy. I usually rinse mine light salt and pepper grill and gtg
