Today lets learn to make Turkish-style Baked Rice Pudding. Non-pasteurized milk is best to make fırın sütlaç. This baked rice pudding is very tasty and holds a very special place in Turkish cuisine. Turkey is famous for its wide selection of milk-based desserts and puddings.
►Ingredients
Rice – 1/2 cup
Water – 1 cup
Milk – 3 cup
Sugar – 1 cup
Cardamom powder – 1 tsp
Milk – 3/4 cup
Corn starch – 3 tbsp
Egg yolk – 1
►Method
1. Cook rice in water.
2. Add milk, sugar and cardamom powder and boil it.
3. Add milk and cornflour mix and make it slightly thick.
4. Pour in a bake-proof bowl.
5. Mix egg yolk with milk and pour 1 tbsp on top of the pudding and bake or grill till brown spots.
6. Serve hot or cold.

Oh yes, yes it does! 😀 My husband (a full blood Turk) loves his sütlaç a lot! But usually people like it when the top is burnt really really well 😀
Well, I just made this for the first time. I am an American unfamiliar with using cardamon. It tastes a little like nutmeg. I will definitely make this again, maybe using vanilla and/or almond extracts. Not sure what the egg wash adds but maybe I didn't burn it enough. Thanks for the good dessert!
