Wow!!!! These Moroccan spiced sardines are clearly my favorites I’ve tried since I joined this sub! 100% recommend! I got them from the 99 Ranch Market yesterday for $2.19 a can.

The best thing about these sardines is how the spice permeates the fish flesh – and these sardines are actually spicy!

The pleasant warming heat from the piri-piri lingered without overwhelming the flavor of the fish or crossing into pain. It’s a mild, consistent spreading heat with delicious Moroccan warm spices (clove, peppercorn, bay leaf) all mixed together in a warm hug.

The ONLY issue I had with these sardines were the scales left on the fish. They came off easily enough, but each fish has some scales on both sides.

I heated these sardines over a medium flame, then drizzled some of the sardine oil over leftover homemade mashed potatoes.

It seemed to me I need some crunch and some pop, so I added a peppery salad mix dressed with a light vinaigrette dressing to the potatoes, before putting the sardines on top. DELICIOUS!!

These are the best sardines I have ever had. I highly recommend them to anyone. They would be delicious mashed on saltines, stirred into a tomato sauce and served over pasta, on flatbreads with capers and a creamy cheese – any way you can thank of!!

Please try these sardines and let me know what you think. ❤️ I hope you will enjoy them as much as I did.
