Crema Catalana is a much lighter version of Crème Brulée, but just as delicious. Recipe at http://titlisbusykitchen.com/archives/crema-catalana FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/titlisbusykitchen TWITTER: https://twitter.com/Titli_Nihaan
If you use cinamon powder just use a pinch. Gelatin will make the dessert set like jelly, but that's not what the consistency of the dessert should be like at all.
Titli, im a fan, im from palestine studying abroad, and your recipes are helping me alot cause im missing my mother's cooking 🙂 I perfected your maqloubah, butter chicken, ..and this one soon ….thanks again for such amazing videos! love the humour too lol
Keeps the egg yolks from cooking too fast an unevenly as the hot milk is added. Tempers them and raises their temperature to allow even heating. As Titli says, the egg mixture might get very lumpy otherwise!
It looks amazing, it must taste amazing too!! I love this dessert, specially for the cinnamon which flavours the custard… I never used orange zest to infuse the milk, but I'm sure it will add an extra something to the final crema. I'm Catalan and I'm really happy that you made this recipe! Love your videos 😀
I am doing a spanish project on foods from spain! I think I'll do this one! Plus, your video is the only one I could find in english, so thank you! Oh, and does Crema Catalana originate from Spain???

i <3 crema catalana , Thank you so much !!!
How can you not have a broiler in your oven?
Yes you can if you wish. The flavour that the citrus gives to the dish is very delicate.
Wow! I had never heard of this dish until I watched your vid!! Thanks!!! Sorry for commenting so much on everything… But I can't help it!!! He he he:)
I feel like making this today, I can do it, it's easy, thank you for posting it

last part. so funny. HAHA
hey sorry but will this work if i add skimmed milk and use instead of all that sugar like 60% of the sugar and 40% of stevia in the raw sweetener
The milk thing should be OK. I'm guessing the stevia thing will be too…
ok thanks

Now if I had done that I would have been ridiculed for all eternity. Do try it, and let us know how it turns out 🙂
