Need advice. Is it possible to have a proper seal for selling bbq sauce in these bottles if so and done correctly how long is estimated shelve life

  1. That is a bad idea. BBQ sauce needs to be pressure canned. If you put it in this it would not be shelf stable and you would need to refrigerate immediately and how quickly you eat it depends on the recipe. A week to a month depending on acidity. You can’t store it at room temperature in these.

    The reason canning is so strict on what materials can be used is because, unlike big companies that sell sauce in these bottles, we don’t have multimillion dollar machines and scientists with PhDs. You could pressure can a *tested* recipe and transfer it to one of these for serving to be fancy, but that’s just extra dishes.

    If you are selling you’ll need to either fit within the cottage food law of your state or hire a thermal process expert to validate your specific product and process including the bottle.

    These bottles are likely made for aseptic process and package which you cannot replicate in a home kitchen so you will need to find a kitchen for hire and have your thermal process expert validate your product in their process.
