A delicious Cypriot meatball recipe made with potatoes and meat, as well as a variety of savory spices and fresh herbs! Nothing beats biting into these crispy small logs, whose crispness gives way to a luscious tasty inside. Patates Köftesi in Turkish and Keftedes in Greek are the names given to these meatballs. Fell in love with Cyprus and it's people in 1995. Had our holidays there for the next 15 years until my wife's ill health sadly stopped us having holidays abroad. Miss it so much!
سلام از ایران خوب بود ودی روغن زیاد میخاد
We Persian have a kotlet similar like this ! We add ground meat to that potatoes and onion , turmeric and salt pepper ! No greens or bread crumbs 🤷🏼♀️but I would like to try yours just the greens because potatoes are carb enough and we didn’t need adding egg either ! If we do this with cooked potatoes for sure we would need eggs 🤷🏼♀️watching you from Minneapolis USA
Hello from Canada 🙂
Yumm! Squeeze the Meat! I
I love my mums Cypriot meatballs. I could never get them tasty like hers
Looks so delicious! I’m going to try this recipe.
I'm from Singapore. It's similar to what we have in the region (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei). We call it Bergedil. It doesn't have parsley, mint, paprika, cumin. It's made up of potato, onions, spring onions, meat and salt. But I'll also try this and see how it comes out.

Watching from Santa Barbara CA USA, thanks for sharing. Love meatballs from around the world!
Watching from Italy- looks very tempting – will try in air fryer first 🤗
❤️merci beaucoup bonne recette
My mum would use whatever minced meat was available – pork, lamb, beef, chicken and sometimes a mixture of 2 or more. She never used cumin but did use cinnamon with the mint. Vary the herbs and spices to suit your taste.
Love this recipe. Just beautiful and easy to make. As usual, not complicated.

Hi from England, ilove keftedes
I made mine with venison, potatoes, onions, curcumin, oregano, mint, cinnamon and cloves, salt and pepper, garlic, one egg and then baked them. So moist as I don’t use bread or any binder. PS. I add 2 tsp apple cider vinegar to get rid of the egg smell.
In Queensland Australia those potatoes would be large not medium.
