Made The Soup (slightly modified) for the first time – this is incredible!

    I discovered The Soup when I was looking for inspiration by browsing the top posts of all time here. I was instantly intrigued.

    The modifications I made were as follows:

    – I used 1/2 lb each of mild and sweet Italian sausage instead of chicken
    – Instead of microwaving the flour, onions, garlic, tomato paste, and olive oil, I combined it all in a bowl and then cooked it in the fat leftover in the skillet I used to cook the sausage
    – I used chopped baby spinach with the stems cut off

    All in all, this is an instant hit and will definitely be entering my usual rotation of fall and winter dinners. I already can’t wait to make it again!

    I love this soup but I don’t understand why people use a slow cooker for this. None of the ingredients are improved by slow cooking them. You can make this in 20 minutes on the stove.
