I’ve been growing a vegetable garden and trying to be more self sufficient. In this video I show the total harvest amounts from this summer and cook lots of food from the garden.

Alex you could have just taped the stem on the melon that fell back together. Surprisingly it just bonds together and continues growing.
Good work mate
What’s going to happen with the bees?
Hi Alex! I always find your videos very satisfying and I really loved it! ❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing! ❤❤
How precious of a person “we need to appreciate buckets more” 😂
While he was eating melons and enjoying life we were waiting for results day😭
Alex you have to marry my daughter ok. Come visit us in South Africa 🇿🇦
This video series has definitely been an inspiration to start my own garden. I'm from Australia so we are coming into the warmer months now, I've already started some seedlings and preparing the ground.
The jumper was for continuity , are you going to wear a pink hoodie every where you go now . I have book called much more veg by hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall if you want it . I will sent it to you anyways all the best
All the best for your new home and allotment search! Thanks Alex and fam ❤
We like to put corn in the fire in the summertime. Peel back the husk, remove the silk, and pull the husk back over corn. Chuck it in the fire over some hot coals, turning it occasionally. It's fantastic!
I've never really known anyone else that's as interested in plants, gardening, propagation, and the way things grow, both separately and together as I am. Love catching your content and learning a few little extra things along the way too. I like learning how to avoid blights, how to do soil amendments, & all that stuff too. I wondered if you'd be interested in doing a pen pal/seed swap, kinda thing with a gal that lives & gardens in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains of the U.S.? I've been playing in the dirt & growing things my whole life. I only do the organic, heirloom, sustainable kind of thing too. Be nice to have someone to swap tips, seeds, & spores with once in a blue moon, and to maybe sometimes see the comparison of how things grow & turn out in the seasons of the 2 different regions (between where u are across the pond & my zone 6 region in Eastern KY). Just a thought, & I figured it can never hurt to ask. Wishing you the best of luck with everything… crops, plants, the bees, & life in general! 😊
Have you tried to purchase a flow hive from Australia? You should try that as your third hive?
You probably need a little amendment to your soil for your onions to keep away the white rot. Alliums get it from too wet/humid conditions. If your stalks are yellowing ever, that's a sign of too much water. Alliums like onions, garlic, & leeks like loose, well draining, kinda semi-sandy soil, & lots of nitrogen, especially for bigger, helathier bulbs! That's one reason I love plants, it's aways an experiment and a learning experience. ❤ You grow & learn as you grow!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this vid,the beautiful garden& surroundings,& your observations & results.& The meals looked absolutely delicious. Thanks for sharing your journey 🌿🌞💚🥕🧄🌽🍅🧅🥬🫐🌶️🌻
Plaiting onions is tougher than it seems. I also found they aren't as robust as a string; eventually the stems get very brittle and are likely to snap
First time watching your video and I think 🤔 your family house and garden is so beautiful and breathtaking. Im so blessed watching your video. And I'm sure I'm going to Brag about this good ways. Thanks for your inspiration 🥳
You're such a chill guy, this is so far from most of the content I watch but I always watch your videos when I catch them. Enjoy the move! 🙂
make preserved green figs if they don't ripen in time
Seeing your dad eat was very nice :).
Thank You Alex.. that was quite informative, not to mention inspiring. 🌽 🍅
Ps: Nice Plaiting 😊
many thanks for this videos alex, I really enjoy them. I hope you continue posting this kind of videos. Regards from argentina
What will happen to your bees?
Really loved this video
I spent £1 on lettuce seeds and got 30 lettuce !
Every time I see a video posted from you all I feel is joy, I love the effort you put into your videos and hope to see you in your new house soon. (:
So happy for you Alex! Glad you had a wonderful harvest. Best wishes for your new home! I look forward to future garden and bee videos from you in your new location if that is the plan. Figs often produce a small first harvest of tiny fruits or edible smaller ones, then a second more regular harvest which will be really evident when your tree gets older.
By the way, here in the USA, we eat whole cooked cobs of corn with a small pronged corn holder inserted in the base of the cob and also the end of the cob if preferred. We then slather the butter over the cooked round cob and roll the cob around to get the butter all over it. Some do take the kernels off and serve it such as would be serving canned corn. Or you can cut the cob in half the short way to serve mini cobs. Your decision. Yum!
You could try making like a pickle thing with the green/white part of the watermelon
I make tomato’s with Ras El Hanout – just put your cherry tomatoes into a shallow dish, pour olive oil over them to coat, then sprinkle the spice mix over them, oven roast at 325 until the tomatoes are cooked down. You can use it as a side dish, or press into a paste and use on sandwiches. It’s a great combo flavor. Love your blogs!
You might like adding Schwartz spices with your roasted kale, top with a spoon of lebnah on top- very yummy!
Still waiting on the 300k cake. C'mon you're almost at 400k.
Kail? Look up 'boerenkool met worst' we, the Dutch, love it!
