Could someone suggest if/where one can find a place making genuine takoyaki?

    Dokodemo and Otafuku

I haven’t been to either in years but Otafuku has been around longer.

Back in the day (like 15 years ago lol), Otafuku used to be a literal hole in the wall that only sold takoyaki, taiyaki and yakisoba. Like there was enough space for 1-2 person to work the kitchen/behind the counter and they would just churn out takoyakis lol. [You can fit maybe 2-3 customers waiting in line](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g60763-d424183-Reviews-Otafuku-New_York_City_New_York.html#photos;aggregationId=101&albumid=101&filter=7&ff=42363281) to order inside. Despite that, they were almost always pretty busy with a few people waiting for food whenever I walked by.

I felt like the last time I tried their current, larger location, it wasn’t as good as I remembered but I haven’t really had it recently by any means.

Japan Village in Industry City, Brooklyn, also has a takoyaki stall.

I’m almost certain that there will be takoyaki stalls at every Japan FES. [They have one coming up on Oct 28th at East Village.](https://www.japanfes.com/new-page-14)
