For the sponge:
1 tablespoon melted butter
½ cup (125 ml) sugar
1 large egg
2 tablespoon (30 ml) apricot jam
1 cup (250 ml) cake flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup (125 ml) milk
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Sauce
½ cup (115 g) soft butter
½ cup (125 ml) sugar
¼ cup (60 ml) water
¾ cup (180 ml) fresh cream
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
‼️‼️Serve with Custard, whipped cream and any fruit you like.
Sorry forgot to state it was Custard i served it with.😊😊
Notes:
1. To make an individual Malva pudding, spray a casserole pan or cake pan.
Pour the mixture, bake at 180 for abut 25 to 30min until a skewer comes out clean.
Immediately pour the warm syrup over the pudding.
2. The pudding needs to be hot when you pour the warm sauce over.
If not, the pudding will not absorb the sauce well.
