Does anyone know what this ingredient in the Cowboy Candy is?
Hello – I bought this cowboy candy at Oklahoma’s An Affair of the Heart. I have no idea what this ingredient is and google was no help.

Wow, Google really was no help. That’s impressive in this day and age. Typo?
Edit: never mind, in my sleepiness, mixed up with yellow #5. It’s either a typo or some random ingredient.

You can make this in your own kitchen and it’s a 1000 x better.👩🏼🌾🪴

One of their other products has “Guar Tragacanth”. It seems like a typo

It is in fact a typo. It’s tragacanth – a natural gum.

I googled it a couple of weeks ago and found several. My neighbor makes it and he uses an old recipe from the Ball Canning Company. I plan on making it after I finish the last three jars he gave me. I’ll be making mine with a sugar alternative. So just google recipes for cowboy candy and find one that looks good. If you don’t want to can some, just make the “refrigerator” type. Enjoy.👩🏼🌾📚

A bunch of recipes for candied jalapenos call for tumeric. I wonder if that was what it was supposed to actually be?
Edited to add…Nope I am definitely wrong lol someone else figured it out

It’s a stabilizer.

It’s made with real cowboy mate, only way you get that authentic cowboy flavor!!

Just call her – if you have this you’re probably in central Texas. Just call the owner and ask, she’s a sweetheart and will certainly tell ya.

Trangath?
I would say it’s tartrazine.
