Never been to Chicago but my girlfriend lived there for a while and has been hyping up the food, so I decided to try and give her a taste of the Windy City at home! 3 days of preparation later and I made these Italian beef sandwiches (I also made the jus at home). After learning about the different eating styles of these sandwiches, I went with “wet” (not fully dunked in jus but with a healthy amount poured over the meat so it was still dripping), and “hot” with the spicy giardiniera! She gave them a 10/10 on authenticity and 11/10 on flavor but she may have just been being nice, lol!

That Italian beef. So hot right know.

  3. Looks good! But that is pot roast my friend. You need to cook the entire beef intact then cool it down in the fridge over night then slice it paper thin and re-heat with a dunk in the jus. I am sure it was delicious though!
