  1. Recipe: Fresh crispy red cabbage sliced very thin, [1/4 cabbage];
    add one pear cubed [an apple cubed would work],
    2 T balsamic vinegar,
    2 T almond butter,
    pinch of coarse sea salt.
    Optional: Add walnuts for extra crunch

    Mix with clean hands (or you can use a spatula or tongs), until everything is well coated.
    You can double this recipe as needed. * Lovely recipe – you will enjoy it.

  2. Looks yummy. will give this a go!!! thanks!! Surely this is a "no added oil" recipe but?….is there not oil in the almond butter? Almond oil I s'pose?

  8. I love red cabbage, here's my concern the mixing of fruit and vegetable. In addition, Eating the cabbage raw and not steamed, since it is a cruciferous vegetable.

  9. That looks delicious Anya . Will make it this weekend for friends (and me!). I've started to combine simple salad dressings β€” often using miso or PB2. It's good to keep it simple, but it's tempting to get fancy too, especially for visitors. What is an issue for us here in Oz is not having access to the flavoured balsamics Chef AJ uses. I've tried to emulate them by reducing a good quality large bottle of balsamic and adding a fruit. So far passionfruit is pretty delicious, apple is good and so is paw paw (nearly as delish as passionfruit). But I don't think they are really like the California Balsamics. I also use the kind of balsamic which is already reduced as a glaze, or a marinade, and those are lovely with white or red miso plus some seseme seeds add a little zing too. I use homemade plant milk for a ranch effect in dressings, as does my homemade hummus (lots of lemon and garlic). Am looking forward to making this Anya. Anything with red cabbage is automatically good in my book. 😊

  10. Thanks so much! This was really easy and very yummy! I used peanut butter and added some chipotle roasted garlic seasoning for some salt and heat. Thank you!! πŸŽ‰ .. Update! Tried again and added toasted shredded coconut! Sooo yum!
