Our cherry tomatoes arrived with a new type of seal (not the lid anymore) that appeared to have broken in transit. Are the tomatoes still safe to eat? They spilled in the bag a bit.

I would. But I like to live dangerously.

Other than to keep them all in one place, there is rarely a need for any whole veggies to be packed in plastic boxes, bags, or containers of any sort. You’d wash them like normal and eat.

The skin looks broken on one, so I’d toss that one, but that can happen irrespective to packaging.

i mean…there are holes in the packaging, it’s not like they were supposed to be kept from air. they’re just put in a container (and not just tossed in the bag) because they can’t handle transport as well as other more durable vegetables.
