(TL;DR AT THE BOTTOM)
Hi Everyone!
I’m a food nano-influencer from Belgium. Every time I visit a place, I want to go to the best places for foodies. This can range from restaurants, to shops, to workshops, to producers, you name it!
I’ve been in NYC last may, and boy did I had a blast! I had a very delicious week and discovered some very nice foodie hotspots! I made a list of places I visited (and some I still need to visit): https://maps.app.goo.gl/A6BcPKCueNaVYfMe7?g_st=i
In december, I’m revisiting NYC and I really look forward to discover even more places! So here is my question: what are your recommendations for MUST-VISIT PLACES FOR A FOODIE? I really hope to expand my list and enjoy my vacation even more! Every suggestion is welcome, although we don’t have a huge budget so probably won’t go fine dining every day…
Hope you can help!
TL;DR: What would you recommend as must-visit places for a food influencer. This can range from restaurants, to shops, to workshops, to producers, you name it!

There are really too many to count. If you want some interesting items that are not just restaurants:
-Chelsea Market: a bunch of small-ish food stalls, some of which are quite good. Cool to walk through.
-Flushing, generally: if you have the time, take the 7 train out to Flushing. It feels like you’re stepping out of the subway into a part of China.
-Pearl River Mart: not exclusively food, but lots of interesting culinary equipment from East Asia.
Obviously plenty of incredible restaurants, but to recommend those I think it would help to have a better sense of what you’re excited to see, and where you’re staying.
Are we still doing the word Foodie? I feel like it’s been coopted by soccer moms who like watching the food network and think cumin is exotic.
That aside, the food hall at Pier 57, Tin Building, and Industry City are all cool places that focus on food. At IC you can go to a sale brewery, which is cool, and there is a hidden omakase spot that only serves dinner and has weird hours, it’s in Japan Village.
Check out our Eastern European food – Chito Gvrito, Village Café, Çka Ka Qëllue. Also Caribbean food, we have the largest diaspora of caribbeans in the world. Go out to Brooklyn and get some roti with goat curry and some doubles. Or find a Puerto Rican restaurant.
Go to Jackson heights
Gage & Tollner or Keen’s for a nice meal and a simulation of old New York.
Aren’t you supposed to be the influencer? Not the influenced?
For casual Court street grocers, salento, Thai diner, the tyger
For fancier Chinese tuxedo, sakagura, silver apricot, l’artusi
