The Fridheimar Tomato Farm and Restaurant is a greenhouse operation in Iceland. It’s quite impressive and I thought I would share here. They supply half of Reykjavik’s tomatoes. It’s an ideal setup for the cold North Atlantic climate there. Heat is provided geothermally. Electricity is quite cheap as Iceland has an abundance of power from a massive hydroelectric dam plus geothermal and wind powered generators. I’m told they produce about 2 tons of tomatoes each day. There’s a restaurant right in the middle of the greenhouse. It was quite good. I’m fascinated by the growing medium. It’s just a couple cubic feet for 5 giant plants! In the third pic, that bag of medium is all there is.

    Here’s their website.  [https://www.fridheimar.is/en](https://www.fridheimar.is/en)
