This week, we’re featuring **Flatbush** and **East Flatbush**.

We’re going by this unofficial [Google Map overlay](https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1VYN-6Vkk01byUCF7P13rT6ORT5g) as a GENERAL outline as to what the neighborhoods are. It’s not a strict requirement but try not to go too far outside of the boundaries.

Some optional prompts:

* What are some of your favorite food spots or “hidden gems”?
* Any “must have” or go to dishes from those particular spots?
* Are there any points of interest or events that is worth going out of the way to visit?

Werkstatt is a great, neighborhood, Austrian joint in Victorian Flatbush that makes a solid schnitzel and a great Bratwurst burger. Their beers, cocktails, and liquor selections are also worth checking out! Oh, don’t forget the strudel.

Wheated is a great pizza spot in Flatbush as well. Great pizzas, great cocktails!

Lastly, Suzy’s Roti Parlor is awesome. Can’t go wrong there.

I remember one place that had Haitian patties made with phyllo dough but that’s it.

Lo Duca for pizza, New Nice China Town for Chinese, Bake & Things for their roti and doubles, love the bake and saltfish at Fisherman’s Cove and there were some other island spots in the area that were solid but can’t remember the names.

I enjoyed the food at Manchego, a little pricey though.

    Lot of great spots!

La Baguette Shop has great Hatian pates. Flaky light crust, small and very snackable. Love the smoked fish. If you have only had Jamaican patties you need to try Haitan.

Yaad Mad Thing is amazing jerk, competitive with Peppas. Fun to watch them cook on giant smokers right on the sidewalk. Can be a long wait, 20 minutes or so.

Gino’s Pizza (Flatbush at Linden) might secretly be one of the best slices in Brooklyn, super thin crust NY style. Just make sure to stick with cheese or pepperoni, the crust can’t stand up to weighty toppings.

Drip Beverage Lounge has great drinks, big yummy cookies, and is a good place to chill or work.

Delicious smoothies/juices and some unique Jamaican patty flavors (love the pumpkin) at Natural Blend cafe.

The block of Nostrand between Martense and Linden is almost too hip. Aunts et Uncles is a well regarded vegan Carribean spot. Good food and a cool vibe at Cafe Lips. Little Roy and Immaculee bakery are really popular but I haven’t personally been to either.

There’s a handful more places in this area I’m hoping to try, can share those if people want.
