None of my other lids that we’ve opened so far have this on it and it’s not all throughout the meat. Is it mold? It’s not really scraping off. My husband already ate it despite me telling him to just grab another jar, he said it tasted fine and he feels fine lol.

    Oxidation, this is part of the reason we don’t reuse lids, not necessarily saying that you did but the lid was definitely scratched before it was used to can the venison. This is what rust looks like when there is little oxygen.
