Hello, I’m considering starting to do canning, mostly meat stews, in [these jars](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/korken-jar-with-lid-clear-glass-90227985/)

and sometimes I want to do it with heavy cream in the sauce. is both thing possible?

the linked jars are cheaper then ball mason jars in my country.

Not safe to use these jars for any canning. These jars are only safe for foods up to 120 F per the materials. Water bath canning uses a rolling boil up to 212 F. For meat stews, you would need to pressure can which involves temperature around 240 F. You need to just find jars that are intended for home canning, even if they cost more.

Also you cannot safely home can anything containing dairy, such as cream. You can always add cream to your food after, once you open the jar to serve

You need to know the altitude of the place you’re moving to so you know what weight you need for your pressure canner. For example, I’m over 2,000 ft but under 4,000. Most often I have to pressure can at 15 pounds, so a 10 pound weight wouldn’t work for me.
