If you’re ever up north here in Georgetown, check out Jimmy Vega’s Smokehouse. I’ve been so many times and it’s always amazing, and the prices are insanely good (you can get a brisket sandwich AND a side for less than $10!). I got the Breuben today (brisket Reuben!!!) and it was just so good. I’ve gotten just about everything here and I’ve never been disappointed, and it seems like a hidden gem since there’s never a line and not many people mention it.

I didn’t know I had plans in Georgetown tomorrow…
I literally said “holy shit” out loud looking at that.. I’ve made a countless amount of briskets and pastrami briskets.. but have never made them together. I’m sitting here asking myself “why didn’t I think of that??!” Because it’s perfect.
It’s in a cool old house and they are usually spinning vinyl records too. Good food and a sweet, homey environment. They recently moved from a warehouse district to that house, so I’m wondering if people haven’t caught on yet.
Since nobody has, I have to mention that tater! Dang, I’m heading over during Turkey break.
