I’m just seeing for the first time that the author of Halal Cart chicken recipe is Caroline Russock and there is a note saying it was adapted from the Serious Eats book. Are there any changes from what’s online to what the original recipe says?
I was fairly certain I had seen his name listed in the past but maybe not. More curious than anything, he is listed in plenty of his other classic articles.

Not sure, ingredient list looked the same, as do the instructions. The intro even mentions “this home version by Kenji”
The article has always been written by someone else. Read the third sentence.
Edit: for people who can’t find the third sentence, it says “To taste this particular chicken and rice you can get yourself to Midtown or try this home version **by Kenji**, a spot-on rendition of the street food classic”
