I used this all recipes recipe to make apple pie filling for holiday gifts, and now I’m worried it’s not safe.

  1. You need ClearJel (a modified cornstarch) to can pie filling. Or leave the thickener out and add when you open the jar of prepared apples.

    Unfortunately not, NCHFP, Ballcanning, healthycanning, and Bernardin are all safe sources for recipes and processes.

    You cannot can anything with cornstarch. Not sure why anyone would have written that recipe and put it out there. Sad!
