    Thanks for the recommendation but I’ve gotta say that vegan Ethiopian food is hardly ground breaking. Many Ethiopians fast for many days throughout the year and by fasting they mean eating vegan. You can go into most spots and order fasting injera and you’ll get a great mix of vegan dishes. Seems like Ras is doing some interesting takes on presentation though. Likely they are breaking norms in some ways but the article is poorly written

    Don’t know about breaking norms, but the missir, shiro, and gomen are probably the best I’ve had.

    As an Ethiopian…it’s so bizarre to me that all of the well known spots in NYC are vegan. Butter is fundamental to most dishes, and the meat dishes are the best! Such a small selection here somehow, despite the diversity of the city. And none of them are spicy enough.
