I’d like to make my own yellow pickled radish. Anyone have a nice method?
Store bought Danmuji has too many nasty e numbers.
How is it traditionally made or best way I could make it?

I followed the recipe from Maangchi on youtube. Just search “Maangchi Danmuji”! It’s reallyyy good and tastes authentic. You can adjust the taste to your liking too.

I make the one from SeriousEats fairly often, it’s super simple and doesn’t involve any fiddly ingredients like rice bran. Also I highly recommend putting slices of danmuji inside crispy chicken sandwiches with a blended up sauce of kewpie mayo, green peas and wasabi. It’s the perfect combo of creamy, tangy and crunchy.

(use danmuji in place of the sliced red radishes 😉
