Smoked turkeys turned out great! How was your thanksgiving?
Tried out the Kinders brine kits and turned out great! 2 day wet brine and seasoned with their buttery poultry blend smoked with oak at 275-300

While picking up a turkey for this Thanksgiving, I overheard this gem. A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys, but she couldn’t find one big enough for her family.
She asked a stock boy, “Do these turkeys get any bigger?”
The stock boy replied, “No ma’am, they’re dead.”

I did a Cajun Boil this year. It was tasty.

Very nice. Mine turned out great also. I smoked it on my kettle with the venom.

I smoked mine for about an hour and then finished it in the oven. I originally planned to have it only on the smoker but it was rainy and my smoker isn’t the best (leaks like a sieve) so it was hard to keep it at a constant temp without me being out there basically the whole time. It turned out to be the best turkey I’ve made yet and was delicious and juicy. It had the perfect amount of smoky flavor and was falling off the bone with the drumsticks. I’ll probably do the same technique next year

We did two dinners. Last Saturday for just over 20, and then Thanksgiving for only 9. I smoked one turkey for Saturday (one in oven and smoked a porchetta as well).
I smoked a beef roast yesterday, (and an oven turkey) but the cool thing was that I had smoked turkey and stock from Saturday and made a smoked turkey corn chowder, one of my favorites.
All in all in was a good day.

Ours turned out so good, we didn’t have anything left over. Next, we are buying at least a 20lb turkey.

smoked my first turkey ever on my weber kettle. snake-esque method with damp pecan chips (per the suggestion of the guy in the home depot aisle). lit both ends of the snake, held at 280degF and then cranked it up to 350 for the last 20 degrees or so. didn’t get crispy skin like i was going for but the pecan flavor really was good on the bird!!

We smoked a couple breasts. I was disappointed but my Dad claimed it was the best turkey he’s had. Going to spatch cock a whole bird next time.

I’m a little upset this morning because I went to make a turkey sandwich, my favorite part of thanksgiving and all the leftover turkey is gone. Guess that means my smoked turkey was a hit lol. But seriously, then my family wonders why I hide food for myself. I’m about to go to the grocery store and get another turkey
