This easy Italian sausage and peppers sandwich is made with sliced Italian sausage, beer braised peppers and onions, and a store-bought marinara sauce, smothered with a slice of provolone cheese, and served on a ciabatta roll. When I made this Italian sausage and peppers marinara recipe recently for some friends, a few of them commented that they absolutely LOVED it, and they don’t even like bell peppers…I guess that’s what happens when you stew them in beer though!

  1. Mmmmmm, Now that looked fantastic and so easy to make. Another winner for sure. Stay safe in East TN my friend.

  2. I watch all your vids (to be honest not everyone to the end) only the one's that me and my family like to eat. That said, this is for me the best sausage and pepper sandwich on the web I'm making this weekend. You my friend just keep getting better with your flat top cooking. My wife is inspired by your vids since she is my Flat Top Queen at home. Me I'm just a Grill Smoker guy.
Keep up your cooking my friend my English wife has never had such great American food that you make

  3. Nice work guys, it looks darn tasty. Love the bread vessel choice. The bread works great on buffalo chix sandwiches too.

  4. That sandwich looks so delicious 👍🏽. The perfect combination of favors. Have a great day tomorrow. Great recipe Neal.

  5. Now that’s what I’m talking about my Brotha 🫡
I usually get the sweet style sausage, and never thought of using ciabatta rolls.. what a fantastic audible my guy. That really is the perfect bread, I hate when the regular rolls get all soggy. Shoot, set me up with 2 of them bad boys and i guarantee the will get demolished. Excellent cook with this 1 y’all, Cheers 👊🏼😎🤙🏼

  6. Home run heck that was a GrandSlam. Wow I will be making this real soon. Great video Neil. Great camera work to the Mrs.

  7. Ohh, right town my griddle road, love this and I get to play with lots or recipes on the griddle shortly as Ill be cookin for me for a bit as the bride visits other family. I Hope this recipe is loaded, us old farmers forget and I have homemade sausage that is going to be on the griddle and yes with garlic on the bread. Way to go !!

  8. That looks marvelous…perfect bread and the garlic idea would be great……do you think a dark bold beer would add or hinder the flavor…..might be to much and over whelm the rest….your thoughts

  9. Great cook – I love the "structurial integrity" of the Ciabatta buns – I'm tired of buns disintegrating on me. – Cheers!

  10. Great Italian Sausage Sandwich Neil and Amy, thanks for sharing your recipe with us . Looks awesome. Stay safe and keep up the great recipes and the fun you two have sharing them with us. Fred.

  11. Another great cook. I also like to use pretzel rolls for "sloppy sandwiches". When i was stationed in Germany many years ago a food trailer used them and I've been a fan ever since.

  12. Fire. My uncle did almost the same thing for super bowl when i was a kid. Only difference is he used a hoagie roll and sliced the meat in half long ways. I haven't had it since I was a kid so this brings back memories. Now i want to make this but with the cajun 2 step hot. Love the Channel.

  13. "Texture is the conductor of flavor" -Chef JP. Sausage and peppers are one of my favorite cooks on the griddle. These look excellent! I always hit my pepper & onion mix with oregano as well, adds a little depth of flavor. Awesome job as always guys!

  14. I've never sliced the sausage, interesting take. I go more traditional "fair" type sammy. I use diced tomatoes instead of marinara sauce mixed with the peppers and onions. Let them party on the side of the grill for awhile. Family builds their own sandwich. It is a quick and easy way to feed the masses. Nice work as usual.

  15. I follow all of the heavy hitters for cooking on flat tops on YouTube. In my opinion, Neil is the best! Clearly you can tell this is what he truly did for a living at one point. Every episode makes my mouth water!

Sidenote… A few months back, I bought both of the spices. My kids love them and I took them camping over Labor Day When I was RVing with 10 people. Everybody was commenting on the spice. We used “smash that” On Smashburger’s, and everybody was asking what I was using!

  16. This was a good video guys I'm a day late in watching , was out hunting for the last 3 days ,, trying to get some meat to make my own sausages !!! Not this time , o well. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA…….

  17. Well, I v'e been watching for a while now and not commenting because you basically have been knocking it out of the park every time and I did not feel the need to comment. Then this happens. So I watched the video and it's going great and then I am like "NO" so I finish watching and tell myself "SELF" go back and watch it again. Maybe you just saw it wrong. But alas it was the same. Those awesome sausages, peppers and onions cooking to a perfection, my mouth was watering. Then you pour this can of something (I think you called it beer) not sure what it actually was. I sat there, confused as after pouring you called it a reduction. But actually that was the sausage, peppers, and onions crying a river of tears and asking "Why did you pour that over us". Well at least most of it cooked out. Of course I really have no room to comment now that I think about it. True Story: You see when I go to my son's house, (you wouldn't know him) well he never stocks my beer, not sure why as it is the best beer that ever walked our lands. I can't help but wonder how great that Italian sandwich would have been with that best tasting beer ever. I guess we'll never know.

  18. Perfection!! Been there and done that🤤🤤. I only drink beer on two occasions when I’m alone or with other people and also only on days that end in “y”. 👍🏻👍🏻

  19. I usually grill the sausage (or brats) then do the beer hot tub thing in the aluminum pan, but I’m gonna have to try this.

  20. Done like a true Italian! Well done Neal and what an awesome cameraperson and spokesperson Amy is. I'm sure you get thousands of recommendations weekly, but, my Mother would, and still does, make potatoes and eggs sandwiches on rolls with cheese and SPK and as a treat growing up she would add slices of hot dogs to the mix. It's still a staple of our family and could be served for any meal. All of which could be done on the griddle. Just an idea.

  21. I usually split that type of sausage lengthwise after it has cooked, and then brown the inside really quickly….
