  3. My aunt made the most AMAZING chicken and dumplings except she called it chicken slick. My family is from North Carolina so maybe that’s where the name came from, not sure. She made her dough into long strips not round and it was so delicious!!❤ I miss her and her wonderful cooking/baking still!

  4. i always keep the celery leaves for my chicken soup, the smell is amazing. yes, there is a big difference in roasted chicken and fried or boiled for this recipe. i can pull off about 6cups of chicken so thats about 12 different meals for me, well worth the 8$ for the chicken.

  25. Never thought of adding carrots.I will though. I do use celery and onions.I took the meat of 2 large chicken breasts I boiled, froze the chicken and half the broth
    Used the other half of the broth for cornbread
    dressing for Thanksgiving and the other half I'm making chicken and dumplings this week .I had already added sauted celery and onioms to the broth when I made it.Just have to add salt,pepper and Better Than Bouillon roasted chicken broth 1 to 2 TBS.I add nothing else. I usually make my own dumplings, but occasionally buy Mary B open kettle frozen dumplings. They are already
    rolled out,cut and ready to go.They are good.Gonna try carrots this time.
