How to make Egyptian falafel
Ingredients:
1 kilogram of fava beans
1 cup chopped parsley
1 cup chopped fresh coriander
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon mixed spices
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sesame
Vegetable oil for frying
How to prepare:
Wash the baked beans well, then soak them in water for a whole night.
The next day, drain the beans from the water, then place them in a food processor and blend well until smooth.
Add parsley, coriander, onion and garlic to the beans and mix well.
Add salt, pepper, cumin, mixed spices, and baking powder to the dough and mix well.
Add flour and sesame to the dough and mix well.
Shape the dough into small balls or fingers.
Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Flip the falafel in the oil until it turns golden on each side.
Serve the falafel hot with bread, rice, or salad.
To get falafel that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, leave the dough in the refrigerator for at least an hour before frying.
You can add your favorite spices to the dough, such as paprika, chili, or ginger.
If you prefer carb-free falafel, you can use chickpea flour or almond flour instead of wheat flour.
