Today’s recipe is everyone’s favorite, meatloaf. Let me share with you if how I made a very moist, tender and delicious meatloaf.
INGREDIENTS;
~ 2 lbs lean ground beef
~1/2 medium sized onion
~ 4 cloves garlic
~ 1 large egg
~ 3/4 cup milk
~ 2 sliced bread
~ 1 tbsp butter
~ 1 tsp salt
~ 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
~ 1/2 tsp dried oregano
~ 1/2 tsp dried basil
~ 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
SAUCE
~ 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
~ 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
~ 1 tsp ketchup
Note: It is perfectly fine to use your favorite sauce.
PROCEDURE:
~ Finely chopped half of medium sized onion and four cloves of garlic
~ heat up a pan and add a tablespoon of butter
~ sauté onion and garlic
~ turn the heat off and set aside sauteed onion and garlic
~ remove brown edges of sliced bread and slice into quarters
~ transfer to a bowl and pour 3/4 cup of milk, make sure all bread are soak well then set aside
~ chop about 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley
~ put the lean ground beef in a mixing bowl
~ add the soaked bread, sauteed onion and garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, pepper, chopped parsley and egg
~ mix well all the ingredients together using your clean hands
~ lightly grease a baking pan and transfer the ground meat, form into a loaf, set aside for 30 minutes in a room temperature.
~bake in a 350 degrees Fahrenheit preheated oven for 45 minutes
~ prepare sauce ( 2 tbsp BBQ sauce, 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce, 1 tbsp ketchup)
~ take out from the oven and brush the loaf with your favorite sauce
~ put back to the oven and bake for 15 minutes more in 450 degrees
~ carefully transfer the meatloaf into a serving plate, sprinkle some freshly chopped parsley and let it sit for about 20 minutes before slicing.
~ serve and enjoy.
