This is gorgeous! I’ve never had one…can you please tell me what it tastes like?

Nice! I’ve made the Bon Appetit recipe a couple of times but I haven’t tried it since I’ve stopped using their website. Might give this one a try next time I’m up for it.

I grew up loving NY cheesecake, and spent an entire day making a Basque, and it came out Insta perfect.

I was SO disappointed with it, and I don’t know why. It was too strange for my tastebuds, although it was very good, creamy, and tasty. Just something about the deliberate “burning,” I guess.

    Not my cuppa.

I second the bon appetit recipe recommendation. Dangerous to eat though

This is now the only cheesecake I make. AND I only make it when I’m hosting a big dinner (like thanksgiving) or going to a party because it’s so rich. It’s always a big hit.

looks like it’s melt in the mouth 🤤

Made this same recipe the other day, 2/3 recipe and smaller
    pan.
I cut down a bit on the sugar and burnt the top horribly. We had to peel it off, it tasted of charcoal. So I’m sure the texture of the cake itself was off, but even so it was the best cheesecake I’ve had.

edit to add – yours looks gorgeous, OP!

So pretty! Since i made this i also never made a traditional cheesecake again, i prefer the taste of the basque version way more and it’s also a lot less effort.

Lord in heaven I will to die for this cake

It also became my favorite cheesecake recipe! Easier and so tasty and creamy.

I made the exact same recipe for Thanksgiving in place of the family cheesecake recipe. I think it’ll be my go-to for Thanksgiving from here on out because there’s so many other starchy desserts that a crustless cheesecake is really nice.

It’d make a good Passover dessert too for a dairy meal — no substitutions needed.

Omg why did you even cut it? Just grab a spoon 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I have wanted to make one of these ever since I saw it on Crime Scene Kitchen!

Still looks delicious, and I bet it looks better on a nice plate. I’d eat it.

It looks horrific, but i bet it taste good

Love it. I make chocolate and matcha versions of this and it’s so sinful

My sweetie made one for my birthday for me to take to the office.

Everyone went CRAZY for it. They freaking raved.

So yeah, Basque Cheesecake is DA BOMB.

This is also a traditional Romanian Easter sweet we call Pască. People make it alongside chocolate walnut babka

I would destroy that right into my belly
