My first visit to Show Me Pizza on South 1st St.
Evidently they do a series of Christmas themed pizzas and the first of this season is a Butternut squash pesto sauced pie. I subbed smoked chicken for sausage.
I love a good pesto pizza so I why not try?
The Butternut squash pesto is a subtle flavor. Would never guess it is a squash sauce if I hadn’t seen the menu first. It’s still green and mild enough that I added a whole bunch of red pepper to spice it up. Has both mozzarella and Swiss cheese. I loved the sweet cherry peppers, would order with extras if I got it again.
Glad I tried it. Small annoyance that in order to sub out the pork (sausage) for chicken they delete sausage from the order and then charge for an additional topping ($2) even though it’s a just a protein swap. Brings the price of 12-inch pie to $20 + TT.

Show me is one of my favorite Austin pizzas for price and quality
I didn’t get the hype of Show Me Pizza. Maybe I need to eat it there but for take out and eating at home I thought it was pretty mid.
The owners are great as well. I once emailed them because my delivery order was missing an item and they refunded my entire order plus delivery fee without hesitation.
Holy shit this looks vile. Great candidate for r/pizzacrimes
