I’m getting a lot better! This is SUCH a fun job, I look forward to every shift. Anyhow, does anyone have tips for using the airbrush? It’s new to me so it’s not the prettiest yet!

Start the airbrush farther away from the cake than you have been. Spray lightly, and then add another layer or two you need it. Airbrushes can get clogged and spray splotches on your cake, so make sure it’s clean before you use it—run it under hot water to get rid of any old dye. There is also a way to take out the needle and clean it, but be careful you don’t bend it!
I did these cakes for Safeway for years. They have some really nice sets and patterns, and others I found hard to get right. Have fun! And take care of your hands! Ice them when you get home. My hands are shot.

This doesn’t look too bad. I love the purple and you are learning.

Start with light passes from farther away, it’s like salt in a recipe, you can always build up but can’t take away
