I’ve tried reaching out to HelloFresh on multiple occasions regarding this issue with chopped onions, but they are still sending chopped onions in plastic bag. The main issue is that the onions degrade in the plastic bag and often have to be thrown out due to the terrible smell. I have been a HelloFresh customer for more than a year in total and we love the recipes, but this is just unacceptable. Does anyone know if HelloFresh cares or if their business model is more like this how we do and if you don’t like it then leave.

There’s so many other meal plan kits that offer sign up deals and different recipes. I was with hello fresh for awhile then swapped to a different one cause I got sick of the recipes. I’m back with hello fresh now cause it had been awhile and I missed some of the meals. I’d suggest go out and buy a $2 kg bag of onions to keep in the fridge or switch to a new meal provider. They do it to try and make it more convenient but there souflex mix of diced Carrot and onion always gets chucked if not eaten in the first couple days at our place cause I know that smell you’re talking about. I don’t want to be eating that smell right lol. I just get fresh one’s and dice it up myself or if I know it won’t be eaten when I recieve the box I freeze them. They are so good to freeze!!!!! No smell when you unfreeze either and they are actually quite convenient for a quick meal when you can just chuck them in.

If it was meat or a more costly item like beans they reply and offer compensation but cause it’s an onion I think they’d only offer you $1 or less if you really pushed for it but really who wants to be that lady that wanted to talk to a supervisor over an onion?
