Sad that Park Italian closed – I hope the sign stays up – but excited for a new midtown location of Xian Famous Foods! 45th between 5th and 6th Ave.

They were on that same exact block about 5 years ago, no?

omg! For some reason I thought they were doing poorly since a few have closed. Glad to see this! There are days (especially chilly ones) where I crave these noodles.

Weren’t they already on this block? Real bummer about Park Italian. I haven’t been able to go in years because my work schedule changed and they closed early.

FUCK not the Park Italian Deli!

Does anyone know when they’ll open?

I like this place, but they need to get some real plates and flatware.

Damn, can’t believe Park Italian closed! I used to hit it up religiously (along with the Xi’an further down the block) when I worked at 1166 6th ave.

And just like that, 1000 work button down shirts screamed out in terror, in fear of chili oil.
Also colons.

This post made me try Bites of Xi’an 56 on 56th St. Don’t go in expecting another Xi’an Famous Foods.

OOOH!! So sad the 23rd and 34th st locations because they were so convenient for me but at least there’s there’s a new option.

Man I will miss Park Italian. The cashier guy was a real one. My meal + drink was alway $11 and he would put the $1 bill in the tip jar for the guys.

Dammit. Park was a portal to an nyc that doesn’t exist anymore

Wait park closed??? I’m not mad they’re taking over but when did this happen?

It has been closed for a few months now. Think owner just wanted to retire. At least we still got Margon

Thrilled that I won’t have to take the train to Chelsea to get my fix!

Hopefully they do the lamb dumplings this time. Their previous location on this block did not.

Mixed feelings on Xi’an. Loved it when it was in a basement in Flushing before Bourdain discovered it. Items were like $1-$3. I just think it’s way overpriced now and they don’t take Amex.

Tasty place! Owner’s a d-bag to customers, sometimes deserved, but they do treat their employees well.
