Honestly that area could use facelift though. Hope Seoulju can find a new home

The first place I ever had KFC 🙁

We moved further north so it was less convenient to come down but I loved their food.

Wanted try this place a while ago but couldn’t make a reservation for a birthday dinner for a group. And they open at 7pm. It was a very strange conversation. Can’t say I’m surprised.

  4. Food was great and environment was fun. Hope they re-open eventually.

  5. I remember the days when there wasn’t even a noticeable sign. You just had to walk in after 5 or sometimes 7pm to a mostly empty dark room, and question if you came to the right place haha. Back before their son started helping the parents.

Man, I’m actually really sad about this. Their whole KFC used to be like $10. It was soooo cheap and delicious.

These guys were so selfless during the pandemic…not to mention I never had a bad meal there.

I hope the owners soldier on, they built and operated an amazing restaurant.

I’m so bummed out by this. Not many other kpubs out here. What else is there just Pocha?

Never been before. What on their menu should I try out before they close?

This makes me sad, we used to love coming here when we lived in north Austin and getting the Korean fried chicken and soju. Plus the owner (Josh I think?) was so nice, he would do a shot with us some nights! I hope they can find a new location someday

    Very sad news….

I’m a bit thrown by the reference to “gentrification” they made. That area isn’t good, and we go up that part of N. Lamar easily 2-3 times a month. Heck, the other day we were up there, and there were a half-dozen open-air flea markets going on. Is it improving?

Does anyone know about the new development?! I love Seoulju but this has been my dream for years.

Don’t worry 15 dollar coffee and pastry establishment incoming.

We’re pushing out cool authentic places like this. For what? Another fucking “restaurant concept” with private equity behind it?
