Description –I love some chicken souvlaki and some tzatziki sauce. This recipe is packed with flavor and creaminess!

Usually these are on skewers and made with breast cut into pieces. I went more simple and went with tenders. I thought it turned out well.

Sorry for the long video, but there were some steps before hand, but overall an easy cook!

Ingredients:

Chicken Marinade

Juice of 2-3 lemons
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic (mine were small to medium sized)
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2.5 lbs chicken tenders
1 – 1.5 teaspoons chicken powder

Tzatziki Sauce

1/2 English cucumber (more or less if you want) grated and salted (about 1/2 teaspoon salt)
1 medium clove garlic, grated (about 1 teaspoon)
1 cup greek yogurt (see note)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
2-3 teaspoons lemon juice

Directions:

Mix marinade ingredients and place over chicken. Marinade 1-4 hours.

Mix Tzatziki items and let sit in fridge for 1-4 hours.

Cook chicken until done.

Serve with pita bread

On a serious note, as a combat vet (USAF OIF/OEF 03-04) I appreciate your closing. New subscriber here.

  2. Matthew…. You mentioned how hot it was where you are. I spent eight years stationed at Ft. Bragg back in the 70's I still remember just how hot it can get there. I married a North Carolina girl back in 1974, still married to her today. This August will make 46 years. I'm really liking your griddling videos. I'm definitely going to try this one out. I had souvlaki at a Greek restaurant when I was stationed in Germany, but I think it was either beef or lamb. It was very good

  3. Mnomnomnomnom that looks sooooo delicious.
With every video I like you more. What you said in the end is so true. My youngest brother served in the Dutch army, he was in former Yugoslavia, which was still Yugoslavia back then. It messed him up real bad. In the end it impacted not just him but the whole family, but we got out stronger. I'm proud of him and my whole family on how we dealt with it. Thanks for sharing the images of your riches, your family. ❤❤❤❤❤

  4. hey man I see I'm a year late but your in my wheel house here I grew up 4 mins from Astoria queens where this is on every corner…After years and years of eating the pork n chicken and then trying to repeat the chicken at home a butcher there said you gotta use the dark meat seasoned in lemon, oregano, oil n salt n pepper….amazing acourse with the tzatziki as you did

  5. I'm gonna need a lesson on pronunciation before I can go any further. I'll be back. Looks awesome however you say it.😋
