Herbed Chicken Marsala / A Favorite Enjoyable Delicacy
Herbed Chicken Marsala Recipe:
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup all-purpose flour, for dredging
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup Marsala wine
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon chopped fresh sage
Lemon wedges for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off any excess.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts to the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and sauté the mushrooms until they are tender and lightly browned.
Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
Return the chicken to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and the chicken is heated through.
Sprinkle the chopped herbs over the chicken and sauce, and simmer for another minute.
Serve the Herbed Chicken Marsala hot, garnished with lemon wedges if desired.
