Looks like you hit all the big ones, hope you enjoyed!

  2. How did you do?

Well, 80 percent of these places are fast food or dessert. But maybe this is what people think about America.

  3. sdotmills

The amount of cream cheese on that bagel is literally insane. Going to Brooklyn bagel ASAP

Solid “budget” list but I would have swapped out Ivan Ramen for at least 5 other ramen spots…. Hope you had a good time though.

  5. that’s a lot less steak than I thought you’d get for $35. I guess with fries and a salad it works out about right. I’ll do it at some point if I’m in the area alone, but damn, I’d rather have Ikinari Steak back I think.

Krispy Kream was the only thing I’d say was a mistake, we have actually good donuts here these days (Doughnut Plant is the easiest to do, Doughnut Project is my favorite, Peter Pan is the excellent old school option). Similarly for Magnolia, the banana pudding is the real star (100% worth going back for).

What did you get at Shaller & Weber? Their cured meats are my favorite part of my Christmas tradition.

Everything else: Really nice. I’m super glad you got to TabeTomo, my favorite bowl in the city. Okiboru is supposed to be very good also (haven’t been yet), if you liked the tsukemen at TabeTomo, Okiboru would be worth hitting next time (Paitan tsukemen).

Next time try Hamburger America (the onion burger) to round out the collection of fastfood style burgers that’ll cost you $15+ for a burger and fries (it hurts, but they are all very good). Which was your favorite between 7th/smashed/SS?

I’d add: Come out to Queens for your next trip. We have amazing food, and a 2 week visit gives you a couple days where coming out here is perfectly reasonable. If it’s earlier in the year, check out [Queens Night Market](https://queensnightmarket.com/) (closed for now, will be back next year).

Spent four days in NYC a couple of years ago. Just about every item we tried was amazing and worthy of envy from this rube! With the exception of Gray’s Papaya. We were traveling through (as quickly as humanly possible) Times Square and were starving. Boy, they tasted like hell and gave us both a gut ache that lasted hours.

You did well! Some good old-school classics (and I see at the end you made it to Economy Candy, my candy store since I was a kid). I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.

  8. Lima_Bean_Jean

Camera eats first. Glad you realized that after the first pic! hahaha

I love it! Nice job. Russ and daughters is one of my favorites. Did you like that or Bk bagel better?

  10. freshlybred

What did you order from hop kee? Those dishes look amazing

  11. why_squ1rtle

I haven’t been in grays papaya in years. Their hot dog kinda gross thou. Ur better off getting a Chinese hot dog. It would cost 1.50

  12. Red__dead

Why has this sub become so full of boring tourists posting their cringey posing instagram photos of mediocre food?

  13. funk_your_band

Yes!!! A solid list for anyone visiting! I’d take Joe’s over Prince St. any day of the week, tho.

Hop Kee is such a special place in my heart (lots of family memories). Glad you got to go!
