Received this aluminum cup in our latest box. Looks like Ball canning branding, but not good for hot beverages, microwave, or dishwasher. What is the purpose of this odd, lightweight cup?

These have been around for a bit. They’re a disposable* cup that is easily recycled.

It’s not meant to be a coffee cup. Is meant to replace a Solo cup

*I think that there is an expectation that they’ll be used several times before disposing

You should see how many of these are “recycled” is SoFi stadium during every game.

It’s made to recycle… and that’s what I’m going to do with mine: toss it in the recycle bin.

Stab in the dark here but I’m guessing it’s to drink cold beverages from. Water, pop, beer, juice, the skies the limit.

I think it’s supposed to be reusable/recyclable but imo super wasteful and recycling rules are set by municipalities so I don’t get it and would be super annoyed by it.

Red solo cups are recyclable where I live but gift wrap is not even though it is in the municipality 30 mins down the road. Same with glass wares – i can recycle them my parents cannot.

    It’s great for cold beverages
