Hey all,

So, we’ve made this pork pie for Christmas a few times in the past, family wants to mix things up and asked if we could do something with beef instead. I’ve looked for a good beef pie recipe but they all seem to rely on stew. Any one out there have experience subbing, say, some chopped up chuck roast for the pork in a pork pie? Or have suggestions for a solid steak pie that has the same wow factor as the pork pie?

You can absolutely do it. I’ve made April Bloomfield’s steak and blue cheese pie (way too salty). Cathy Barrow has a book called Pie Squared with some beef recipes. Maybe look at them to adapt to the Seriouseats recipe.
