

I’m really into weight lifting and following IIFYM. Hitting my protein targets is important to me and I felt like this product could help me make a switch over to more plant-based but I’m not sure about how processed it is based on the ingredients.
What do you guys think?

With that sodium level? 6 times what’s in chicken breast. Protein wise, yup, just keep an eye on your total sodium if you’re using manufactured/processed foods.
Tofu would be healthier
Heavily processed foods should be “sometimes” foods. I prefer to treat this Veef stuff like McDonalds. I wouldn’t eat it every day

Jes! It’s a great source of plant based protein. Tofu/Soy products would be even better, because of a slightly different amino acid profile. If you eat enough protein (30 g of protein per meal or above), protein quality likely does not matter that much. I like that it has added B12 and Iron! 🙂
If you struggle hitting protein targets, plant based protein powders are an option too.
Yes. But this is a whole food sub. Legumes/beans, whole grains and seeds and nuts are good sources of whole plant protein. Tofu and tempeh, though lightly processed, are also welcome here.
This is a highly processed food. If you’re looking for something that’s WFPB, try tofu instead.
I think this is a great transition food for you! Keep going forward. Eat well and have fun.
At some point you might want to try making your own seitan. There are lots of recipes online for how to do it. It can be higher protein than meat. And much cheaper. Keep eating your beans and legumes too. Good luck!
