Hey guys my name is Caitlin and welcome back to Cait Straight Up! Today we are going to make a Thanksgiving staple, Cranberry Sauce. It is a must have on every Thanksgiving table and when it comes in a can like this, why not make your own.
We’re starting this recipe with one bag of frozen cranberries we’re going to go ahead and dump that into a large pot and add one cup of water. Next step we’re going to go ahead and add one cup of brown sugar a little bit of granulated ginger, just a couple of sprinkles!
And a little bit of nutmeg. Then we’re going to add about a quarter of a cup of red wine, just a little bit of a little bit for me, little bit for you type pour right in the pot. Next step just a little bit of orange zest! Just right in there.
That’s about good, eh a little bit more. Get the other side there, perfect. After we get all zesty we’re going to chop our orange in half and squeeze in a little bit of the juice. You’re going to let your cranberries and your mixture cook down for about fifteen to twenty
Minutes stirring occasionally so it doesn’t burn until all of your cranberries burst. You should have a real nice consistency, like that! When you’re done. When you’re at the consistency that you want you’re going to go ahead and put it in a Tupperware and into your fridge. Cranberry sauce is best served cold.
The finished product looks and smells fantastic it’s going to be an extra special dish at your families thanksgiving dinner.
