    Kenji’s [IG](https://www.instagram.com/p/C1pjBuqvIqe/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==) announcement:

    “Thanks @vulture for this cool mention!

    Very excited about this new project! Last year @debperelman and I had so much fun chatting recipe development and cookbook writing during the Seattle leg of her book tour (Smitten Kitchen Keepers is an essential cookbook) that we decided to start a podcast together. Fittingly, we are reuniting on the same stage in a few weeks as part of the lecture series I’m curating for @seattleartsandlectures (Deb’s appearance is sold out but I believe you can still nab tickets for my conversation with @ericjoonho in March and @hotthaikitchen in May).

    On The Recipe, Deb and I will be giving you a behind-the-scenes look at what we have to go through to bring you recipes that will work for you in your own kitchens., and our differing approaches to recipe development.

    Deb and I have both been at this job for a long, long time, but we both take very different tacts. We’re hoping listeners will find it interesting and pick up some tips to improve their own cooking (or recipe testing!), and that you’ll come away from each episode eager and confident to get into the kitchen. But let’s be honest: the podcast is really just an excuse for me to chat regularly with one of my favorite writers and to be able to pick her brain and maybe learn a bit more about her process.

    As someone who’s had the @radiotopia jingle stuck in my head since the @99percentinvisible days, it’s so cool to be working on a project like this with them.

    Stay tuned!”

    I also miss the Home Cooking podcast and will be looking forward to this!

    Fantastic, I loved Kenji’s reminiscing while making dumplings segment on his IG recently, so if its more of that, I’m 100% in.

    Also, the SKK cookbook does look awesome.

    Sounds fun.

    Deb entices me so so often. Yet her recipes dont hit for me. They fall flat. They work just fine, but I end up disappointed in the product. Not sure if it’s the over hype she does on her offerings (she really does) or if we just have different palettes.

    Kenji recipes OTOH hit squarely for me and my fam. There’s an authenticity to the food, essential properties that just really work. I have had a miss ever with his offerings.

    This isn’t to say we aren’t adventurous eaters, I cook from just about every cuisine and back decades too, pretty much nightly we are off somewhere new.

    Again, not recipe testing or recipe robustness. It’s something else.
