The dip is originated in Aleppo (Syria) but because of its color the name “Muhammara” comes from the Arabic word” Ahmar” means red. The dish is vegan and an alternative to hummus. This can be used as dip, spread, sauce for kababs, grilled meats and fish. Normally this is best enjoyed with pita. Fresh pomegranate can be added for juiciness and freshness.
