Notification and you’ll always know when my shows are posted today I am making a pineapple upside-down cake now I’m using my bundt pan today but there are several different types of pans that you can use to make this dessert it’s summertime and I’m rolling these desserts out because
They’re quick they’re simple and they’re delicious and ready for summer so if you’re ready let’s get started [Applause] All right we’re gonna go over everything we’re gonna need to make our pineapple upside-down cake now the first thing we have here is a cake mix box now I’m using a pineapple supreme you can use a yellow cake mix or you can use a white cake mix whichever one do you prefer
I’ve got some pineapple slices some maraschino cherries I’ve got some brown sugar melted butter we got now to make the cake mix we’ve got 3 eggs 1/2 a cup of water it’s got 1/2 a cup of pineapple juice and I’m using this out of the can that
The pineapples came out of and then we’ve got 1/3 cup of vegetable oil now you’re also going to need some cooking spray and that is to spray the inside of your pan that you’re going to be using all right y’all let’s get started okay so what we’re going to do now is we’re
Going to take a bundt pan or any other kind of pan that you’re working with a little bit of spray liberally with some cooking spray when I get into all of those nooks and crannies all right next we’re going to take just a small medium sized bowl here we’re going to add our
1/2 a cup of brown sugar now I’ve packed this in there really good there we go and then we’re gonna take our quarter cup of melted butter and we’re going to put that in there and give it whisk we’re gonna mix it all together now then we got to this point
Here all right so we’re gonna take our brown sugar butter mixture and we’re gonna put it into our bundt pan and then just kind of smear it down in there so we got a nice even layer that’s looking good okay alright so what I’m doing is I’m
Taking my pineapple rings out of the can I’m just laying them on a plate now I’m cutting these in half and I’m taking the half and all I’m doing isn’t placing it in my bundt pan right like that so I’m gonna keep doing that until I get
All the way around the pan yeah this looks really good all right next we’re going to take our cherries these are maraschino cherries and what we’re gonna do is place one right in the center in between all of the pineapple so I’m going to take my cherry here then just
Place it right there all right now doing the cherries like this we’ll keep those pineapples standing up really nice look how beautiful that looks y’all now all we have to do is make the cake mix pour it over it and then it’s ready for the oven
All right y’all want to go ahead now and start making the batter so I’ve got my cake mix going in one package all right into that I’m going to add 1/3 cup of vegetable oil 1/2 a cup of water 1/2 a cup of pineapple juice and 3 eggs I’m
Going to mix this up till we get a nice smooth batter all right we’ll go ahead now make sure that everything from the bottom is all mixed in all right we’re gonna take a look at that right there yes we are we’re gonna take our batter
And we’re gonna pour it all over it I’m gonna start over here just kind of work my way around well it smells so good because I’m using that pineapple cake mix and the pineapple juice it’s gonna be pineapple Lee for sure all right that looks good perfect hi
Y’all and is ready to go in the oven it was simple as that we’re gonna put it in for about 35 minutes remember the ovens been preheating at 350 degrees what we’re looking for is a nice golden color on top and I want a toothpick to go in
And come out nice and clean right off we’ll be right back all right so my cake has come out of the oven I’ve let it rest for about 10 minutes inside of the pan here I’ve taken a knife and I’m going around the outside of it just to
Make sure nothing’s stuck to the edges of it to get all the way around it nobody’s going that hard you know just to show you what I’m doing here cuz we want to go all the way down Tamar you push those pineapples underneath the cake so now that about all the edges
Loosened up I’m just gonna take a dish and I’ve got this serving platter here you want something that’s larger than the size of your cake here cuz we’re going to be flipping it on to it so I’m going to put it right on top of here and
Then I’m going to take the whole thing and flip it over all right if you know my channel you know what I say close your eyes and don’t look and do it fast just like that get my towel out from underneath of it there we go all right then just kind of

Catherine if you had some pecans to this whole pecans that kind of makes it taste more interesting because the pecans come together with everything else you add to it.
First of all I love love pineapple upside down cake and I do make it occasionally but you have shown me a new easier more beautiful way of making the cake. But your way is even better than my way because you make it with so much love you put the pineapple juice in it the way it stands up for my gosh Iβm about to die here.
This looks really great. I usually make it in a 9×13 pan and flip it over on my rectangle Tupperware cake carrier.

I made this when my brother and sister-in-law were visiting. Let me just say that she is a great baker and cook. She was very impressed with this cake as the presentation was just as great as the taste! (You always make me look good in the kitchen.)
