It is a brand new year of winter dinners and I am thrilled to find new recipes to test out here in our house and then share with you if we deem them winners hey y’all I’m Mandy and this is Mandy in the making if you are new to my channel

Hello and welcome to your first Friday video so each Friday I do something called winter dinners where we go in search of two or three new recipes to try for the week and then if we love them we film them and we share them with you now this recipe is not really recipe

It’s a Mandy’s kind of making it up as she goes but it was inspired by a couple of things first of all when I was shopping on Thrive Market I found this this is the muffaletta olive salad the muffaletta sandwich is what Stephen loves to get and Cole loves to get from

Jason’s Deli I don’t know if you have a Jason’s Deli near you but I love their ultimate BLT bowls and I have recreated that at home I’m not sure what bread a true muffaletta uses but I found this Italian bread which is kind of thick sliced at our grocery store and so I

Thought we could do warm muffaletta sandwiches but with a lot of cheese on them melt the cheese Almost Do It Like a grilled cheese is it New Orleans that is famous for the muffaletta sandwiches if you’re from there and you’re watching me you may want to click out because I

Might upset you because I’m not doing a true maeta sandwich we’re going to do Mandy’s version you could definitely do these um on the stove top but just so that I do them all three at the same time because one for me one for Steven

One for Cole I’m going to do them on my griddle I love my griddle I have this griddle it is the dash brand I have it linked in my Amazon store I got it several years ago and I use it all the time especially for making bacon and

Pancakes I’m making this for lunch today because there is a very important game that comes on at noon today we’re using my cups that I got for Christmas today says Saturdays are for football and it has Clemson South Carolina on there so it’s the Clemson game today

We’re very excited hoping they win but either way we’re going to have yummy food so let’s go got enough for three sandwiches here we are going to butter one side of each piece of bread so let me do that first I’ll be right back one side is buttered I’m going to put it

Buttered side down it’ll just be it’ll just have to be okay um just so that we can load these sandwiches up Steven requested man on his so like I said this is a loose translation we’re just using the muffaletta Olive um salad or Olive relish really that’s this is not really a muffaletta

This is a yummy sandwich that Mandy’s making do we need mayonnaise on both sides I mean I’ll do light mayo on the other side what do you think I’m going to open this up Steven’s already popped the top top and smelled it he sniffs everything every food every everything

He has to sniff it I don’t it’s just his thing so here it is we’re going to let I’m not going to completely drain it because I have a feeling the juice is a good thing but I I don’t want it to get too soggy either oh I need to be heating up

My my griddle let’s do that now we’re going to load it up with some ham and salami and I also have some extra pepperoni so why not this is three different types of salami I just found this in the um near the deli at my grocery store now cheese we have a

Little bit of this Italian cheese left so I’m going to sprinkle that on there I’ve got some montere Jack if I need to shred that too I don’t think I need the montere jack cheese we’re just going to go with the Italian cuz that was plenty

All right so now we just need to flip this this over and we’re ready to go to The Griddle I’m just going to spray the griddle even though I’ve got butter on these I’m going to spray it in each spot for each sandwich you know what I’m going to throw a little

Garlic powder on top just a little bit not a lot just for a little something extra you know all right let me turn this heat back up a little bit it is the beginning of a new year and a lot of us are trying to make smarter choices when

It comes to our food so if you aren’t familiar Thrive Market is an online membership based grocery store on a mission to make healthy being easy and affordable for everyone I’ve been a Thrive Market member since 2021 and let me tell you I absolutely love a lot of

The products that I get from there and they’ve become Staples in our home it’s been nice to make the switches gradually over to more organic products so if you’re just looking to switch to more organic things or if you have a specific diet that you are following like Whole

30 or paleo you can filter the products based off of that diet or Lifestyle the best thing is you don’t have to leave your house it’s winter time we’re cold you don’t want to go out on the cold so stay on your couch in your pjs if you

Want to and order your organic groceries from Thrive Market you can choose to be a member for an entire year and just pay $59.95 annually which comes down to $5 a month or you can choose the month-to-month option for $12 but you’re going to get guaranteed Savings in every

Order in this order alone I saved over $47 so let’s say at the end of 2024 you have not saved your $59.95 in your annual membership fee they’ll credit you the difference but let me tell you within a couple of orders you’re more than likely going to save that amount so

I mentioned there’s a lot of pantry Staples that we love just products that we have just really fallen in love with but they have more than just food one of the supplements or homeopathic medicines that we just stocked up on is this right here it has come in handy during the flu

Season when you join today by going to thrivemarket.com slandy inthe you’re going to save 30% on your first order plus you’re going to get a free gift worth up to $60 and their free gifts are great so if you are looking to kick KCK start healthier habits in 2024 Thrive Market is your

Answer go check them out today okay I test flipped the first one and it went okay let’s flip the second one you just got to be you got to be quick there we go let’s let these hang out on this side for a little bit make

Sure all of that cheese melts Cole just tried it and he said he came over here to get a napkin and he pulled out some napkins that we have from take out whatever look what napkin he pulled out I mean it’s just meant to be is this mine no yes it’s

Mine that looks good you ready I’m hungry are you just checking oh yeah got the good stuff I put mayonnaise in there too cuz I know you wanted that oh we didn’t tin Tink man did I do good wow wow I might like this better than the Jason’s

Deli one stop it are you serious Cole what do you think about that I probably have to agree Cole agrees I did so good I’m not the biggest fan of the bread I mean not of this bread yes but Jason Deli bread I’m not the biggest fan of

The Jason’s Deli bread but it’s good I like the crunchiness of it but this has got the crunchiness then that buttery flavor but the the layers of flavor here starting with the bread crunchy buttery then the mayonnaise gets into that Olive oh and then it just goes perfectly with

That uh with that meat that’s in there the pepperoni a little bit of spice and then there’s some Italian cheeses in there too m i mean that’s one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eating I have a feeling we’re going to be making this pretty often it

Was so easy babe you ain’t got no more have you m I feel like it has been a really long time since I shared my pizza casserole recipe with y’all I’ve been making this for years and years and years even before I was really a cook however I’m

Going to change it up a little bit today because usually I use rotini rotini that’s how you say that yeah noodles instead of egg noodles like the recipe calls for but I do like egg noodles now I’ve gotten to where I enjoy them so we’re going to use egg noodles I’ve

Never made it with that before okay so let’s preheat our oven to 350 and I need to get a pot of water going here okay we’re going to get started by chopping up our onion and our bell pepper so if you don’t have one of these I highly

Recommend it’s an onion keeper it’s really nice I think the recipe calls for a full onion why can’t I not open this right now what happened I’m over here singing your Praises dude open up are we serious right now who closed this I’ll be back I’ve never had this happen

Taada I’ve never had that issue I took it in there to Steph and he said and he kind of looked at me funny so that’s that so let me peel this off and we’re going to chop it and then we also need to chop this bell pepper that’s done I

Am going to slice these pepperoni just a little bit I don’t want them whole in there if I had those mini pepperoni that would be even better but we had these left over from pizza night so I’ve got my large Skillet heated to medium high

I’m going to add in half a pound of ground beef and with my ground beef I’m going to add in our onion and bell pepper I’m also going to season this with a little bit of Italian seasoning and my noodle water is ready I need to

Drop my noodles in there I’m going to Salt the water I Dro noodles on the floor I’m sorry I don’t have cheese out yet give me just a minute honey she really thinks this is cheese so you need two cups of egg noodles or if you’re doing rotini that’s

Fine two cups of that we are just cooking these according to package directions so about 8 to 10 minutes I’m going to boil these all right if you need to drain your uh ground beef go ahead and do that and then you’re going to add in about a tablespoon of minced

Garlic and let that cook for another minute and we’re about to drain these so that we can add them into this okay at this point you want to add in about 16 oz of pizza sauce so this particular one we just opened to do homemade pizzas the other day but

There’s probably about 16 oz left I’m going to add a little bit of water to it shake it up you also need about 1/4 cup of milk you want to add in your pepperoni that you chopped up and we’re going to add in our noodles but let me go ahead and start stirring

This I’m going to turn this off now let’s add in our drained noodles and let’s just stir all of this up and then we’re going to transfer this to a baking dish and it’s going to go in the oven so you need a 2q baking dish I’m going to spray mine

With a little bit of nonstick spray and just transfer all of this over I like this dish because you can make it like you would make your pizza so if you don’t want to do ground beef if you’d rather do sausage do that or if you want

To add olives or mushrooms or whatever you want at this point you can make this your own creation this is going to go in the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes and then we’ll take it out and top it with some mozzarella for the last five I’m

Going to do mine for 15 and then we will put the mozzarella on top okay let’s take this out of the oven and put mozzarella on top you only need about a cup of mozzarella just enough to go over top and I always get the creamy melt by

Craft it has a touch of cream cheese in it to help it melt better cuz mozzarella doesn’t melt really easily the pre-shredded stuff anyway it’s going to go back in for another couple of minutes just to melt that and it’ll be time to eat and I must pay the cheese

Tax it’s still Christmas here just in case you’re wondering it’s still Christmas it’s dinner time it is currently just me and Steven here Cole will be back in a little while so he can eat when he gets home but this is the perfect amount for us and I’m excited to

Try it with the egg noodles versus the rotini tin Tink tastes like Pizza Pasta how do you like the egg noodles versus the rotini that we normally do I like it okay they’re a little softer mhm U the other has a little bit more of a a cheer

Texture mhm I feel like this is Saucier I feel like the other one soaks up the um sauce more so I always felt like I needed to add a little more sauce in it called so I feel like this is saer which is a good thing yeah I love

This that’s tasty great job great job great job great job cooking great job cooking if you know what he is referencing it’s not great job cooking it’s something else if you know it was a video that went viral how many years ago long time ago it’s a little girl little

Girl and a dog great job we quote it all the time it was a Gob backer he got a second bowl that man’s hungry that man is hungry we had those grilled cheese Muffet I’m going to tell you what and muffalo y’all oh I meant to tell you he

Had a great idea of what to serve with that real cheese muffaletta I’m going to let him tell you after he choose his food those muffaletta sandwiches we could be here for hours talking about how good it is but if you want to make it like way up here we’re

Talking like over thep beyond the moon okay yeah some check it out now tomato basil soup huh yeah creamy tomato basil soup okay that’s what I’m talking about and you could dip it almost like like an incredibly sophisticated grilled cheese sandwich if you think about it because

It’s got the cheese in there you got that muff lettuce spread a little bit of mayonnaise on the toast with butter it’s it’s like cream cheese it’s like cream cheese get the meats in there wait stop not not cream cheese it’s like it’s like grilled cheese not cream cheese see what

You’ve done to me you’ve done this to me spread cream cheese not hate grilled cheese but yeah I’m telling you it would be it would be fantastic little little creamy tomato basil soup in there what yeah the guys are already like when are you making those sandwiches again is the

Best sandwich I think I’ve ever to try it with the creamy tomato basil soup we we’ll do it we’ll do it very soon tomorrow yeah okay y’all it is our third recipe and that means it is subie supper this recipe comes from Kirsten it is not an

Original from her she found it on a website but they love it and it has a really long name so I’m just going to read it to you it is called the salad to bring when they ask you to bring a salad Kirsten is a mama to two and she is

Expecting her third in March she’s from Hurley New York which is about 2 hours north of New York City she is an executive assistant for a cemetery and Crematory that is very interesting moving on she said she’s often tired from running around chasing Rugrats her words not mine so so dinner has become

Difficult and less enjoyable to make and that’s where we come in she said she’s a new subscriber as of this year 2023 and that she’s really enjoying the recipe suggestions and then of course the Antics from Steven and I and Cole so thank you Kristen for sharing this with

Me I’m excited to give this one a try because I feel like when you have like some type of potluck or something to go to and someone says to bring a salad my tendency I just go grab a couple of bagged salads at the grocery store and

Just take that toss it together but if we love this one this will be our new go-to okay the recipe calls for a shallot and you only need just a very small amount very finely diced I did not find a shallot at my grocery store so

We’re going with onion I’m just going to really finely mince this because this is going in the vinegret so you don’t want chunks then you want some pecans it says toasted I’m not toasting mine just because I don’t feel like it just being honest but I am going to chop these I’m

Sure the flavor would be great if you toasted them don’t doubt that at all and is there anything else I need to chop not really we do need to wash our lettuce though I’ve got two uh Romain heads here so let’s rinse this off we’ve got our

Lettuce all done I need to make the V vinegret really quickly so I need a four of cup of olive oil I’m just going to make the vinegarette here in this measuring cup just to make it easier we need our shallot or our onion in our

Case we need a couple of tablespoons of white wine vinegar we need 1 tablespoon of dark maple syrup and about a half a teaspoon of salt and about a/4 of a teaspoon of pepper let’s just whisk that together and if you’re making a small amount of this you definitely could

Still make this entire vinegret and just save it in the fridge for about a week if you need it we’re going to go ahead and dress it now I just got some salad tongs not too long ago so and the recipe does call to add spinach to this too I just didn’t have

Any spinach on hand and forgot to get it at the grocery store if I’m being really honest so we’re just going with Roma today you know how Mandy rolls so now let’s throw in our toppings so our pecans that we have chopped are going in you could do

Crains if you wanted to but we have these dried cherries on hand from a very sweet subscriber who sent them to us so I’m just going to throw in about a handful maybe a little extra and then the recipe calls for crumbled blue cheese I’m not

The biggest blue cheese fan I can take it but just in small amounts but we’re going to do feta instead now all those toppings are going to get coated with it too and stick to the lettuce I’m digging it digging it I’m so punny I cracked myself up all right guys

This salad took 10 minutes and I’m excited to eat it are you ready I am ready this look smells delicious it does smell really good getting some some good fumes in there fumes all right I got some stuff okay you ready let’s Tink Tink what am I going to do with you that’s got so much flavor to it you can taste that onion in there too oh yeah now I get that but just a little bit the sweetness of the cherries and that there’s a little bit of maple

Syrup in there so that helps this is a really good blend of ingredients pons are my favorite I love that dressing on there though it’s very I don’t know it’s very light and it’s got that fresh it really goes well with these greens the type of greens that you have here MH if

Someone asks you to bring a salad bring the salad a little bit of sweetness little bit of saltin it’s really well balanced M thr some chicken on there if you wanted to mhm that was something else I was going to do today but I got lazy well Kristen

Thank you for sending in this salad M it’s a good one I didn’t I didn’t tear the lettuce enough it’s rather large so tear your lettu hkers in there tear your lettuce better than I did you’re throwing food on the floor you’re throwing flu flu on the floor flu on the

Floor okay we’re burning daylight here we ain’t got time for this let’s go I need to film my outro this rabbit over here is just chowing down on this lettuce you just go hang out while I fil film The outro I mean I recking well I hope you enjoyed this

Week’s recipes let us know below which one you plan to try first how low can you go get out of here sorry you said let us know below how well can you go below get out you don’t even make no sense we are so happy that you are here in the new year

Good bless!!❤

  3. I always save your video for my last of the day because I love them so much. Great recipes! Much love from a teacher from Chicago!

  4. Got a good laugh out of Steven's salad chewing antics. I had recently watched a video of a big ole tortoise doing the same. Hmmmmmm. Sorry Steven. Love you guys.

  5. Muffaletta bread is a big round loaf like a french bread and it can be cut into four pieces. I used to make a sandwich like that for my boys using french bread. I wrapped it in tin foil and warmed it in the oven until the cheese melted. They loved it.

  6. We just made the salad. Feta and onion for me too but I did throw my pecans in the air fryer while I made the dressing. We made it a meal by topping it with Rotisserie Chicken Salad from the deli. Delicious. That dressing is sooo good. Thank you!

  7. I made the salad tonight and it was AMAzing!!! So so good. Thank you for sharing. Only change I made was using goat cheese because it’s what I had on hand.

  8. Muffuletta Bread, it’s basically a white bread that has been shaped into a flat disc and topped with sesame seeds before being baked, it looks like a large hamburger bun with a crusty texture.

  9. Y'all crack me up! I love it! I've never heard of that muffaletta sandwich. I don't like ham so would leave that off. But it looked delicious. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year to you & your family. Looking forward to see what you come up with this year.

  10. OMG You all are right. This is the best sandwich ever. I learned from Steven and made two sandwiches. I took pictures but don't know how to send. I also put thinly sliced onions on ours.

  11. How have I never visited your channel before? Excuse me now while I do a Netflix binge-style deep dive into your old videos. 🙂

  12. Love all your videos and recipes. Love Miss Gracie Lou. She is a sweet blessing to see. When you talk to her it sounds like she saying mam to you. Love you all so much. ❤❤
