But I only had low sodium broth. Otherwise I followed the recipe. Should I add extra salt? It’s only been cooking a few minutes. Generally I try to keep sodium on the lower side but I still want it to turn out right.
Also, will post results!

You can always add more salt to taste, it should turn out a-ok :’)
Can I be controversial by saying that the soup is a huge waste of time – you can get the same results by adding Tortellini, cheese, spinach, cream and shredded rotisserie chicken to some Heinz Big Red Tomato soup. Better yet you can make it at the drop of a hat.
After making “The Soup” the first time as per the link (and yes I followed the recipe as written with no substitutes or adjustments) I found the result to be tasty but not that special. So the next time I felt like a hearty soup I tried the low-effort version I described above and my whole family said it tasted pretty much the same. Was the slow-cooked version better? Yes, but only slightly and not worth the time commitment IMO.
To really make “The Soup” shine you would need to go full gourmet – homemade stock and tortellini, with premium quality tinned tomato and Parmigiano Reggiano
The answer to “should I/could I add more salt?” is always taste it to see. And if you intend to cook the broth down (decrease volume), do the taste test near the end of the cooking process, after you’ve stopped reducing.
