Lectins are plant proteins. They’re found in all sorts of members of the vegetable kingdom, and they happen to be one of nature’s greatest defenses against any hungry animal (or human being).

Now, not all lectins are toxic. But many are, and when you’ve got a lectin intolerance, you don’t want to ingest any one of these plant proteins, because the consequences can be pretty severe.

You see, nature’s got it all figured out. Plants suppose if you eat something that makes you sick, you’ll steer clear of it the next time you’re hungry. So, by forcing you to ingest harmful lectins, Nature has protected itself. Let’s say you decide to do your gut a favor and cut out gluten. It may help, but adopting a gluten-free diet doesn’t always fix the problem.

That’s because many other kinds of non-gluten grains can contain other types of lectins.
And those lectins can cause painful or uncomfortable physical responses, including:

  2. I had a five year stent plug and decided to research things deeper. I had bad psoriasis from atrostatin and now muscle problem with crestor. Realized my oats breakfast and somewhat healthy diet was not really that healthy. Have totally changed my diet around your research and instantly started feeling better. May eventually stop statins and was wondering what you thought about natokinase. I lived in Japan and remember lots of stomach cancer there potentially linked to fermented beans, but not conclusive. The supplement looks like it removes the bad stuff. Thanks for your time and effort making such a huge difference to the human diet.

  3. I just have to ask. Why would a tomato or fruit produce a lectin poison when the plant actually wants an animal to eat it so it spreads its seeds? It makes no philosophical sense.

  6. Few years ago, my place supermarkets will offer health points for wholemeal breads purchase. (Now they no longer did that for some years) But during that timenmy Mum told me that she had pooping problems after eating the bread. I had the same problem but later i had the good fortune to come across Dr G's podcast, then I realised that whatever the community touted to be health foods for health points is nothing but a hook. The state does not give a damn to the outcome of your health! It's better to follow advice from a person with traceability than to listen to a faceless authority! Be smart and verified your own!

  9. Dairy and gluten was causing me to have migraines. I listened to you and limited lectins. Also spent about $800 Australian on your pills and tablets.

    Your stuff works seriously.
    Now I eat bread and dairy again.

    I think that not just lectins hurts us,
    The herbicides, pesticides and GMO are hurting us badly too.

    Do you know where us deprived Americans can purchase saucisson and other fermented charcuterie that meet your excellent standards? While I'm certainly keen on spending more time in Spain, Portugal and France in the meantime it would be wonderful to have access to safe beef/pork/lamb.
