I realize bottled salsa is sacrilegious here, but this was an impulse buy… It lacks smokiness and sweetness. Can I add dried guajillo? Do I roast it first before grinding? Appreciate your guidance.

I cheat and add chipotle chili powder to store bought. Adds smokiness and a lil kick. I can’t help with the sweet. I likem tangy

I really did not like this brand. It had some kind of funky taste.

This is my absolute favorite brand of jarred salsa. That’s all I have.

When I’m not making pico de gallo or blended salsa by hand what I’ll do is take a half of the jar of store bought and blend it with garlic and cilantro then re incorporate it with the remaining salsa. That’s my go to.

This one is a little different, I think because they use red wine vinegar. Personally I would add some dried chipotle and maybe charred tortilla 😋 to offset the seeetness

I usually mix different store bought salsa together.

I bought a jar of Mateo’s at Costco, I was thoroughly disappointed. I’ll have to try your hacks!

Canned chipotle’s in a blender with the jar. I’d also add some smoked garlic and cilantro, but we love that shit in my house.

Cilantro really brightens up any jarred salsa. I realize some people hate it but it works for me.

Cilantro, lime, heat if wanted and depending on the brand maybe some extra garlic/onion powder. I soup up store bought salsa all the time.

Can’t help ya, but while we’re on the topic of store-bought, I think Clint’s is the best. Never need to add anything to it to satisfy my salsa cravings.

Infinite amount of salsas to try. Try another one!
