McCormick Chili Seasoning

INGREDIENTS
• 1/4 cup chili powder
• 1 tablespoon paprika
• 1 tablespoon cumin
• 2 teaspoons onion powder
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon cayenne powder
• 4 teaspoons salt
• 2 teaspoons ground black pepper

PREPARATION STEPS
1. Add all ground spices to a bowl and whisk until well combined.

2. Store your homemade chili seasoning in an airtight container in a dry and cool place.

3. Alternatively, measure everything right into a storage container, close the lid tightly and shake everything up until evenly combined.

4. Use 2 tablespoons of this homemade seasoning mix for a large pot of chili to serve 6. This equals about one packet of store-bought seasoning mix.

To make chili:

Ingredients:

1-pound lean ground beef

1 package McCormick® Chili Seasoning Mix

1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained

2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce

1 can (15 to 16 ounces) kidney beans, undrained

Directions:

1. Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat.

2. Stir in Seasoning Mix, tomatoes and beans. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4. Serve with assorted toppings, if desired.

You can also try other variations of chili with different types of beans, meat, or vegetables.

  1. Do you have a dedicated Taco spice mix? This chili one looks good, easy and inexpensive! Thank you.

  2. My husband enjoys the McCormick Bag n Season Chicken Seasoning Mix, I assume that most of it is some type of paprika but I do not know which type and what the other seasoning would be. Do you have a recipe that you could share with me? These tend to be expensive especially with the addition of the bag (which I believe I could mimic by using tin foil).
